Priyan R. Wijebandara is a Web Editor (Sinhala) based in Colombo, Sri Lanka. He is also an award winning writer who has published multiple books and is a film and literature critic. He Graduated in Political Science (Special) at University of Kelaniya with Second Class-Upper Division. He is currently pursuing his Masters in Mass Media at the University of Colombo.
He joined Ada Derana in August 2009 and has over 17 years experience as a Journalist. He is a Visiting Lecturer at the Sri Palee Campus in the University of Colombo since 2005.
Yusuf Ariff is a Web Editor (English) based in Colombo, Sri Lanka. He joined Ada Derana in early 2011 and covers everything from politics, current affairs, sports, tech, entertainment and arts, with a focus on news in Sri Lanka.
He holds a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Interactive Media and an Edexcel Diploma in Multimedia.
H. Poornima Ayuwardana is a Coordinating Editor for Ada Derana. She successfully completed the Diploma program on Television and Journalism at Sri Lanka College of Journalism. Pursuing further education, she later joined University of Colombo for their diploma program in journalism and successfully completed the same.
Currently she is an undergraduate at the University of Kelaniya following Bachelor of Arts.
Shammi Shameera Ranasinghe is an Assistant Web Editor for Ada Derana. She holds a B.A (special) Degree in Mass Media with a second class Upper Division from the Sripalee Campus, University Of Colombo. She holds a Higher Diploma in Counselling Psychology from the Mental Health Foundation conducted by Professor Gnanadasa Perera, University of Sri Jayawardanapura.
She holds a Diploma in Tamil Language from the Institute of Human Resource Advancement - University of Colombo. She has also worked as a freelance journalist from 2012 for various newspapers and magazines.
Jegatheswary Ramasamy is an Assistant Web Editor (Tamil) with Ada Derana. She holds a Diploma in Journalism from the Sri Lanka College of Journalism and a National Certificate in Information & Communication Technology (NCICT) from the District Vocational Training Center.
Binoy Suriyaarachchi received his B.A. in Mass Communications from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Before joining Ada Derana, he worked as a journalist at two national newspapers since 2011 where he helped cover major stories including Welikada prison riot, Matale mass grave and Aluthgama riot. In various capacities in digital communication operations with Ada Derana, leading to his present assignment as Deputy Editor, he has acquired skills in tasks including analysing and creating digital content for social media platforms, drafting Facebook posts and tweets, implementing social media campaigns and review them, writing feature and news articles on a wide range of topics including political, security and economic issues.
