With International Women’s Day falling on 8 March, Amãna Bank has declared the month of March as the Ladies Savings Month. A special promotion will be conducted during the month in order to encourage women to establish a savings discipline while special gifts and benefits are to be offered upon opening of new accounts. Intention of this initiative is to pay tribute to the caring women and to empower them by educating the importance of saving for their future.

Commenting on this the Bank’s Manager Ladies Branch, Mrs J B Ashroff, said “As mothers, wives, employees and entrepreneurs, women play a valuable role in shaping society. In doing so their financial strength and discipline is very important and with our Ladies Savings Account we give them the opportunity to enjoy the convenience of managing their own finances efficiently and effectively. We are happy to launch this promotion during a period when many events and initiatives are taken throughout the world to inspire women and celebrate their achievements”.

Amãna Bank is honoured to be Sri Lanka’s first and only bank with a dedicated branch and specialized units within selected branches that cater exclusively to the banking needs of ladies.  The Ladies Savings Account includes features such as introductory gift upon opening the account, free initial ATM card with access to more than 600 ATM’s islandwide, higher profit sharing ratio on deposits and a Rs. 500/- pre-loaded balance for every Children’s Savings Account introduced by the account holder.
