Wife of Sri Lanka’s former army chief General (retired) Sarath Fonseka address a Democratic National Alliance (DNA) rally held this evening at the Hyde Park in Colombo. According to the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) the main constituent of the DNA, this is the first political rally to be addressed by Ms. Fonseka. However, during the run-up to the Presidential poll she addressed several meetings but on a lower scale. Due to the General being in detention pending a court martial, Anoma Fonseka has been thrust to the forefront to stand in for the General.
