President Maithripala Sirisena commenced a four-day state visit to the Philippines on January 15 while the official discussions with his counterpart Rodrigo Duterte was held on Wednesday (16) afternoon.
The two heads of state have focused on establishing an economic council to revive economic and trade relations between Sri Lanka and the Philippines.
They agreed to set up a joint economic council to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
President Sirisena met President Rodrigo Duterte at the Malacanang Place on Wednesday afternoon (16) and he was warmly welcomed by the President of the Philippines.
