Fonseka to lose parliamentary seat?

September 30, 2010   01:04 pm

With President confirming the 30-month jail term imposed Sarath Fonseka following his conviction by the second Court Martial now the question stands as to whether Fonseka would lose his parliamentary seat. When Media Minister Keheliya Rambukwella was questioned today regarding the matter he said that constitutionally Fonseka would lose his seat.

However when Ada Derana contacted UPFA MP and DLF General Secretary Vasudeva Nanayakkara said that since Fonseka is appealing the Court Martial decision, his seat would not cease until the Appeal court decision.
