Suspected hardcore Tigers to continue behind bars

At a meeting this evening (October 6) the National Security Council decided to further detain suspected hardcore Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) cadres already in custody. Further, those against whom there is little or no evidence but held only on suspicion will be gradually released, stated Police spokesman SP Prishantha Jayakody.
