October 7, 2010 11:20 am
The no confidence motion against External Affairs Minister Prof. G.L. Peiris is to be taken up in parliament today. The no confidence motion was put forward by the UNP. One of the main reasons behind the no confidence motions is the Ministers inaction regarding retaining the GSP plus concession.
Chief Government Whip Dinesh Gunawardena earlier said that voting on the no confidence motion is scheduled to take place on the same day.
The no confidence motion was handed over to the speaker by UNP MPs John Amarathunga, Lakshman Kiriella and Ravi Karunanayake.
