President Mahinda Rajapaksa will be sworn in for the second term on 19 November, President’s Media confirmed. It has been stated that the inauguration ceremony will be held in Colombo.


It was previously reported that the President would be sworn in at Anuradhapura on the 18th or 19th of November.


President Mahinda Rajapaksa held the Presidential Election in 2009 with one year still remaining in his first term. Thus the first term of President Mahinda Rajapaksa will conclude on the 18th of November.
