500 rehabilitated LTTE cadres released today

A group of 500 rehabilitated LTTE cadres will be released today (15 October) at the Vavuniya Cultural Center, Commissioner General of Rehabilitation, Brigadier Sudantha Ranasinghe said.

 


The former Tamil Tiger rebel fighters will be released due to successfully completing their rehabilitation programs at thePunthottam and Pampemadu Rehabilitation Centers in Vavuniya.

 


A cultural event is also to be held coinciding with the function where the rehabilitated individuals will express the educational knowledge they have gained through the program and will also perform with song and dance. At the end certificates will be awarded to the former LTTE cadres as well, said Brigadier Sudantha Ranasinghe.
