Explosives, other items found in Talawakelle

On information provided by a person arrested in Kandy, explosive materials and other items have been recovered from the Talawakelle area, say police.

 

 

According to Central Province Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Pujith Jayasundera, C4 explosives weighing four and a half kilograms, five hand grenades, a Claymore mine weighing 1.6kgs and two generators have been thus recovered.

 

 

The suspect is being further questioned by the Central Province Terrorist Investigation Department, said DIG Jayasundera.
