Medical Officers condemn the selling of Medical Degrees

October 16, 2010   04:59 pm

We are against the government’s agenda to provide Medical Degrees for money, the All Ceylon Govt.Medical OfficersAssociation said. This will cause the country’s government universities to shutdown, ACGMOA President Dr. Gishantha Dassanayake stated.

He pointed out that even now a private medical institute has been established in order to provide anyone with a Medical Degree for money.

Dr. Dassanayake said that while government run universities in the country are deteriorating day-by-day, the government is allowing private medical institutes to be established without renovating and improving the current ones.

If the government proceeds in this manner it will only lead to the loss of free education to the deprived students of the country, he emphasized.
