Interviewing of new parties begin

The Election Commissioner’s office stated that political parties requesting to be registered will first face a series of interviews starting from this week onwards. The Commissioner’s office pointed out that 82 political parties have put forward requests in order to be registered.
Parties that have fulfilled the qualifications needed to be registered have already been called for interviews on specific dates, they said. The registering of new parties will be completed before the upcoming Local Government Elections, they added.
