Muttur blast injures five kids

An explosion at Vattama area in Muttur has injured five children. The incident had occurred near the Muttur lagoon, according to Police spokesman SP Prishantha Jayakody.

 

 

The five children all under 10 years of age have had been playing with a steel object without knowing that it was a part of a mortar bomb, said the police spokesman.

 

 

The injured kids after being admitted to the Muttur Hospital were later transferred to the Trincomalee Hospital, said SP Jayakody.
