October 25, 2010   01:41 pm

The Appeal Court today postponed the hearing for the case filed by Sarath Fonseka against the decision of the Second Court Martial. The hearing was postponed due to one of the two judges presiding over the case stating that he would not preside due to personal reasons.

Judges Erik Basnayake and K.P. Thissasiri were scheduled to preside over the proceedings however K.P. Thissasiri has thus stated that he would not preside.

Due to this the judges have requested the Chairman of the Court of Appeals to appoint a new panel of judges to preside over the case.
