Court okays eviction of unauthorized students from Kelaniya University

The Colombo Magistrate’s Court today (Oct. 26) granted permission to the police to evict unauthorized students if any from the Kelaniya University.

 

 

The permission was granted by Colombo Additional Magistrate Mahee Wijeweera when he took up an application by the Kiribathgoda Police on the issue.

 

 

Kelaniya University authorities and Police told court that some persons occupying the university without authorization were engaged in causing damage to property.

 

 

Granting permission to police the Additional Magistrate put off further examination of the case to October 28.
