High noon murder at Wellawaya

The brutal murder of a 60 year old woman at Wellawaya was reported this afternoon. Wellawaya Police said that the suspect had attacked the woman with a weapon, killing her and injuring two other women.
The injured women had been admitted to the Wellawaya hospital and later transferred to the Moneragala Base hospital since their condition was critical.
The attacker had been arrested and will be produced in court, Police said.
