The Java World Congress 2010 organized annually by the Chamber of Charted Professionals International is to host the International Congress & Exhibition on ICT for Sustainable Development in Colombo from 19-21 November 2010 at the Sri Lanka Exhibition & Convention Centre (SLECC).

 

Minister S. B. Nawinna, Ministry of National Language and Social Integration, Minister Prof. Thissa Witharana Ministry of Science and Technology, Minister Keheliya Rambukwella Ministry of Media are expected to address this media conference.

 

The program consists of the following segments:

Congress on use of ICT in ten deferent thematic areas such as education, health, environment, food, livelihood etc.

Java Sri Lanka 2010 Exhibition where over 300 software will be developed to showcase how computers and internet could be used for above mentioned thematic areas.

“Samurdhi Viskam Udanaya 2010” Exhibition which will display products of over 200 Samurdhi Entrepreneurs. They are the winners of district level competitions organized by the samurdhi Authority of the Ministry of Economic Development. These entrepreneurs will get the opportunity to integrate ICT in their business activities.

Exhibition on “ Sithamu- Let’s build the Nation” program promoting Social Capital for Social Integration. This is a project of the Ministry of National Languages and Social Integration.
