The All Island Private Bus Company Federation today expressed that they oppose the decision taken by the Sri Lanka Transport Board (CTB) to introduce a Flat rate of Rs.10 in several bus routes across the island.

It is illegal to impose such a rate, if the government continues this we will also raise our bus fare to equal that of the government (Rs.10), Co-Chairman of the federation Stanley Fernando expressed.

We have notified the government and the relevant Minister in writing about the matter and if no action is taken regarding the subject we will stage a strike from midnight of the 31st of December, he stated at a media briefing in Narahenpita.
