November 2, 2010   05:00 pm

The bust statue of former LTTE political wing leader S.P. Tamilchelvan in France was ceremoniously opened today, foreign media reports. Spokesman for the External Affairs Ministry Bandula Jayasekara told Ada Derana that though the government had lodged its strong protest they had received reports that the statue was built on a private property.

Jayasekara added that the Sri Lankan government through its embassy in France had made representation regarding the issue and will follow it up.
