Visiting hours for Jaffna Library

The Jaffna Library will be open for visitors from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m from today (09 November) onwards. Visitors will be permitted in groups of 25 and for sight seeing purposes only, Mayor of Jaffna Yogeswari Patkunarajah told Ada Derana.


However tourists should refrain from taking any sort of baggage, mobile phones, cameras or any other electronic equipment inside the building, she stated.


The library was once one of the biggest in Asia, containing over 97,000 different books and manuscripts.
