Sumana thero and four others remanded until next year

Colombo Magistrate Court today ordered that five persons including Ven. Uwathenne Sumana Thero who was arrested before the last Presidential election for the alleged illegal possession of explosives and other arms to be kept in remand custody until March 29, 2011.
Earlier Ven. Uwathenne Sumedha Thero who was arrested over the same charges was released on a cash bail of Rs. 100,000 and a surety bail of Rs.1 million by the Colombo High Court on October 28.
