Speaking Ada Derana the Secretary of the Government Nursing Officers’ Association(GNOA) Secretary Nalaka Hettiarachchi criticized the Health Ministry decision to consider the nursing staff who did not report to work today as having vacated their posts. He added that this was a breach of every known international labour law and convention.

If this decision is not revoked from tomorrow we will commence an indefinite strike at all major government hospitals, he added.
