Lankan judges to receive training in India

Steps have been taken to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Indian government in order to train judges. This will provide Sri Lankan judges with an opportunity to receive training in India, Justice Minister Athauda Seneviratne said.
The decision was made at a meeting held with the Indian High Commissioner, Ashok K. Kantha at the Ministry premises yesterday (11) evening, he said.
Thus the country’s judges will receive training at relevant training centers in the cities of Bangalore and Gopal. The MoU will be signed in the near future, he also added.
