Two Batti MC members hospitalized, CM accused

Two Batticaloa Municipal Councilors have been admitted to the Batticaloa Hospital after they had been attack by an unknown group, Ada Derana reporter said. The assault is said to have taken place at the Batticaloa Mayor’s residence last night.
The group of assailants had arrived in 8 vehicles to the house of the Batticaloa Mayor while a meeting had been taking place yesterday (12 November) night, the correspondent added.
The injured Municipal Council members when questioned had stated that they were attacked by a group of supporters of Eastern Province Chief Minister Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan alias Pillayan.
However when Police media spokesperson SSP Prishantha Jayakody was inquired regarding the issue he said that an incident has been reported of two Batticaloa Municipal Councilors being attacked however there have been no reports that the assailants were supporters of Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan.
