New pension system won’t affect provident funds - Lokuge

Introducing a new retirement pensions system for private sector workers will not affect the provident funds in any manner, Minister of Labor Relations and Productivity Improvement Gamini Lokuge assured.
The Minister stated that workers of the private sector should not have any unwanted fears regarding this issue. The retirement pensions system will be implemented once a separate bill in regard to it is presented to Parliament and is approved, he added.
