Term exams postponed due to inauguration ceremony

Third term school exams scheduled to be held on November 15th, 16th, 18th and 19th will be postponed as the Education Ministry has advised Provincial authorities to take measures necessary to hold those examinations on different dates.
The Education Ministry states that the decision had been made so that school children could participate in the second ceremonial inauguration in office of President Mahinda Rajapakse to be held on November 19th.
The exams previously scheduled to be held on the dates November 15, 16, 18, 19 will be shifted to November 22, 23 and 24, Secretary to the Education Ministry Sunil S. Sirisena revealed to Ada Derana.
He also stated that many schools in the Colombo District have been advised to remain closed on the 19th of November due to the inauguration ceremony.
