Pay water bills via SMS starting today

From today onwards the public can pay their water bills via SMS, marking a new era in public service led by President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Water Supply and Drainage Minister Dinesh Gunawardena told Ada Derana.


Those who wish to pay there water bills via a simple SMS would initially have to fill out a basic registration form available at any Water Board office. The applicant should indicate his mobile number, bank details and also give details regarding his/her monthly water bill.


Once the registration process is complete the public can pay their respective water bills at home using only a SMS. The amount in the received bill will automatically be deducted from the bank account.
