UNP to boycott ‘expensive’ inauguration - Karu

The UNP will boycott the inauguration ceremony of President Mahinda Rajapaksa as decided at the Working Committee, UNP Deputy Leader Karu Jayasuriya said at a press conference today. He added that they will inform their party members of the decision which was taken as a protest to the exorbitantly expensive ceremony.  

 

Karu added that sweaing in ceremonies of the past Presidents have been modest ones.
