US businesswoman Tracy Murphy says helping animals has always been a big part of her life. So when her business travels brought her to Sri Lanka, she was devastated by the living conditions of the street dogs there.
One in particular caught her attention: When Murphy found him, Dingo was starving, emaciated, and only had three legs.
“I couldn’t believe it,” Murphy said of Dingo’s condition.
She was inspired to raise enough money to bring Dingo back to the United States, where she says he could have a safe, loving home.
She started circulating the story, and in just 48-hours she had raised more than $1,000.
“And the support’s still coming in,” Murphy said. “People really care about this little guy and his plight.”
If all goes as planned, next month, Dingo will be on a flight to Buffalo.
Murphy says her next goal is to help people here navigate the process of adopting street dogs like Dingo.
