Armed forces field exercise begins today

The Sri Lankan armed forces will be conducting a joint field military exercise at Silawathura in Mannar today (21 November). The exercise will be carried out for 9 whole days from Silawathura all the way to Anuradhapura, Thanthirimale and Mavillu, Army Spokesperson Major General Ubaya Madawala stated.
Around 2500 soldiers representing the three armed forces (Sri Lanka Army, Sri Lanka Navy and Sri Lanka Air Force) are listed to take part in this special program.
The field exercise which is scheduled to begin at 3.00pm today and also happens to be the first ever of its kind being held in the country, will measure war tactics, skills and also techniques required to carry out successful missions.
