More than 1,000 Sri Lankan soldiers are currently serving in UN peacekeeping forces, according to army headquarters.
Sri Lanka’’s first-ever participation in a UN peacekeeping force came way back in 1960 when some six peacekeepers were deployed in the United Nations Mission in Congo, PTI reports.
