Showers cause more peril, 15,914 affected

Due to excessive showers and flooding 3404(15,914 persons) families island-wide have been affected, the Disaster Management Centre(DMC) told Ada Derana.

 

In the Puttalam District due to the overflowing of the Deduru Oya and the inundation of the nearby region, 2295 families(10,723 persons) have been affected. In the Gampaha District 478 families(2395 persons) have been affected.  

 

The DMC said that nine IDP camps have been established island wide and a total of 61 houses have been damaged due to flooding.
