Hambantota Consulate opening today, Jaffna’s tomorrow

The Consulate General of India will be opened in Hambantota on 26 November while the Consulate in Jaffna will be opened on 27 November, as agreed at the 7th session of the Sri Lanka-India Joint Commission today.
The seventh session which was held today (26 November) in Colombo was co-chaired by S.M. Krishna, Minister of External Affairs of India and Prof. G.L. Peiris, Minister of External Affairs of Sri Lanka.
The Ministers also reaffirmed the importance of the Joint Commission mechanism to monitor implementation of bilateral understandings.
