100 families displaced in Monaragala

Over 100 families are reported to have been displaced after heavy rains lashed down on several parts of the Monaragala District last night.


The lives of the residents in the area have been greatly disrupted due to the collapsing of the Liyangolla and Sirigala bridges, Ada Derana correspondent said.


Furthermore 22 houses in the Monaragala division have been completely destroyed following the heavy downpour, District Disaster Management Center reports.
