The Janattha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) says that they will carryout a program to inform the public about the budget, which has not fulfilled the expectations of the people.

This budget has been customized in order to please only the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the wants of western powers, its General Secretary Tilvin Silva said.

The proposed budget, which provides none of the promised concessions to the public, may bring forth an unfavorable situation to the country, he expressed.

Therefore at Parliament the JVP will use its vote against the budget, Tilvin Silva stated.
