Cracks appearing on DNA trophy

Nava Sihala Urumaya leader Sarath Manamendra has been removed from his position in the Executive Committee of the Democratic National Alliance (DNA), says a statement issued by the party General Secretary Vijitha Herath.


The DNA also states that Mr. Manamendra had on earlier occasions told party chairman Tiran Alles and Executive Committee member Jayantha Ketagoda that he was faced with severe economic and personal problems and that he intended to support the Government of President Mahinda Rajapaksa.


DNA’s Vijitha Herath states that this was against party disciplines and as such Sarath Manamendra was removed from his position in the DNA Ex-Co.


On earlier occasions too, Sarath manamendra who is a former Sri Lanka Air Force personnel has had a few disagreements with other party members of the DNA.
