The budget has been prepared and presented under the terms of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the banks from which the government has taken high interest loans, UNP Parliamentarian Gayantha Karunatilake said.
No changes have been made to our decision to vote against the budget at the second reading vote scheduled to be held today evening, the Galle District MP stated at a press briefing today (29 November).
The trust which people had placed on this budget was shattered when the budget proposal was presented to Parliament, he added.
The UNP media spokesman further pointed out that even though allocations have been made for the whims and fancies of the government Ministers, average people are not benefited from the budget.
