Bonsoir Short Film Day on December 5

Bonsoir the longest running TV programme in the country, celebrated its 25th anniversary in July this year. Bonsoir TV magazine which comes to you every Monday at 10.00pm on Channel Eye, SLRC is produced by Studio Bonsoir with the support of the Embassy of France in Sri Lanka with the collaboration of Canal France International and France 3 Television Channel.
As part of 25th year celebrations, Studio Bonsoir organized a competition for young Sri Lankan Short Filmmakers below 35 years of age. Short films less than 10 minutes of duration produced during last three years were eligible. Partners of this competition are Embassy of France, Alliance Francaise de Kotte, Brain Tea in France and Sri Lankan Ari Lines.
All films selected for ‘Bonsoir Short Film Day’ will be screened at Alliance Francaise de Kotte, No: 139, Jawatte Road, Colombo 05 on 05th December 2010 from 9.30am - 4.30pm. Award Ceremony will be held at National Film Corporation Theatre, Bauddaloka Mawatha, Colombo 07 at 7.00pm and the Ambassador of France in Sri Lanka and the Maldives H. E. Madame Christine Robichon will be the Chief Guest.
Sumithra Peries (Chairperson), Asoka Handagama, M. D. Mahindapala, Aruna Gunaratne and Bertrand Dufieux serve as the Jury and Anoma Rajakaruna, Chief Editor for Bonsoir curate the Short Film Day. The winners of the Best Short Film Award and the Jury Award will be flown to Paris with the courtesy of Sri Lankan Airlines to attend the Bonsoir short Film Day in Paris on May 2011.
