Suspect in custody hangs himself with sarong

A suspect has committed suicide while being held in custody at the Mawathagama police station in Kurunegala. The suspect, apprehended in connection to a drug trafficking racket, had hung himself using the sarong he had been wearing.


While the incident had taken place yesterday (December 04) evening, a special investigation is being carried out on the suicide, Kurunegala SSP Vass Gunawardena stated.
