Chicken and eggs to be imported for festive season

In view of the festive season the government will import 2500 tonnes of Chicken and 50 million eggs, Cooperatives and Internal Trade Minister Johnston Fernando said in parliament today. However the minister added that steps will be taken to ensure enough protection measures are in place to support the local farm owners.
