Nurses from Kandy to join GNOA strike

Nurses from the Kandy general Hospital will also be joining the strike organized by the Government Nursing Officers’ Association today, its Chairman Saman Ratnapriya said. If the authorities don’t present immediate solutions to our problems we will launch a continuous strike in hospitals island wide, he also expressed.


Saman Ratnapriya mentioned that the strike was commenced due to 10 nursing staff from the Hambantota Hospital and 24 from the Kalubowila Hospital being inhumanly transferred to highly interior and out of the way areas.


The strike is being carried out as a continuous protest fast in Hambantota, Kalubowila, Matara, Karapitiya hospitals and also the National Hospital, GNOA Chairman said and he also urged health officials to immediately suspend the transfer orders of the nursing officers in order to re stabilize health services.
