Son kills mother and torches house before heading to sea

A murder incident has been reported from the Kapparathota area in Weligama, where a woman had been slain and her house set on fire today (December 12) morning. The main suspect in the case is the woman’s own son, Weligama Police revealed.
Police stated that certain information has been uncovered regarding the incident.
Initial investigations have revealed that the son of the murdered woman had set the house on fire subsequent to committing the murder and had then headed off to sea in a boat belonging to him, police said.
