The government has not succeeded in properly resolving the problems of the displaced persons, Democratic National Alliance MP Vijitha Herath said today (December 12) while addressing a media gathering.

Almost one and a half years have passed since the end of the war, but still the internally displaced people in the country are facing immense hardships, he stated.

Due to this their (IDP’s) fundamental rights have been breached, the MP pointed out.

He claimed that certain international organizations and foreign powers are attempting to take advantage of this opportunity in order to interfere with the internal affairs of Sri Lanka.
