‘Esperanza 2010’ – Chords for a Cause

With only a few more days to go, the largest musical event of the season – “Esperanza 2010” – is already heating up the Colombo music scene. Organized by the Rotaract Club of the Faculty of Science, University of Colombo, “Esperanza 2010” is sure to attract a large number of music lovers to the Bishop’s College Auditorium on the 18th December, at5.00 p.m.
This concert has some of the biggest and most popular new performers up in its posters. Bhathiya and Santhush, Nemesis,Billy Fernando and Battery will lead the pack of diverse musicians attending the concert, backed up by Tehan Perera, Ruwanth Illeperuma and Shane (Yes FM Super Stars), Helter Skelter and Wagon Park and many more artists. With such diversity of music in one concert, this is sure to be an entertaining event.
This eclectic mix of musicians will come together in aid of “Project Senehasa”, which hopes to raise awareness and assist the education of differently abled children of Sri Lanka. Staying true to its’ English translation of ‘hope’, “Esperanza 2010 “ will help the Sri Lanka Army’s Senehasa Education, Resource, Research and Information Center, which specialize in the rehabilitation of special needs children of war veterans.
In the season for giving this seems to be the ideal situation, where anyone can enjoy great music, and also aid in a very worthy cause. But as tickets for the event are quickly disappearing, music lovers must hurry to purchase their tickets, or risk missing the biggest music event of the season.
