Sri Lanka has turned out to become a country that depends on women, says Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena. Most of the country’s income is gained through Sri Lankan women who serve in Middle Eastern countries, the Agriculture Minister states.
Furthermore the contribution made by women working in the tea industry and the garment (Apparel) industry has grow to be an unique reason to increase the country’s income, he expressed during an event to distribute fertilizer to farmers in Monaragala.
What most men do is just depend upon the earnings of women. Therefore women should be given an increased leadership role, Mahinda Yapa further added.
