Janashakthi Insurance PLC the most profitable insurer in the first half of 2010, clinched dual honours for two consecutive years at the glittering 19th World Brand Excellence Awards Ceremony held in Mumbai, India.

It was bestowed with the prestigious “Award for Banking and Financial Services” and the “Award for Overall Brand Leadership”. The prestigious awards were presented by the renowned World Brand Congress as its 19th World Brand Summit.

General Manager Sales & Marketing of Janashakhti Insurance hailed this as a “total endorsement of our endeavor in brand building and brand management efforts. We attribute this achievement to our underpinning brand propositions; the unmatched quality of our service and the creation of greater value via constant investment in brand building. The Janashakthi team is delighted and deeply honored with this recognition where our customer-centric deliberations in developing brand and related activations have been appreciated by a global jury consisting of an eminent panel of judges”, Liyanage said.

The World Brand Congress is the single largest rendez-vous of the best brains behind some of the world’s most successful and sought after brands. The Congress is an annual meeting place for leaders from every sector and continent and is a non-profit making activity aimed at a professional cause of development and growth. With a membership embracing 60 countries across the globe, Brand Asia is a body committed to raising the standards of marketing and brand management across all industries in Asia and the world. This year’s prestigious winners include global brands such as LG Electronics, Microsoft Windows, Honda, Star News, Canon and Yahoo.

Paddy Weerasekera, Head of Marketing added, “We are honoured by this recognition … especially being a totally homegrown brand and winning among top global brands. We were successful in winning this global recognition due to our aggressive marketing and brand management strategies adopted as a market challenger to gain market share and enhance customer and shareholder value.

Being the most profitable insurer in the first half of 2010 and winning an array of local and global awards, Janashakthi will continue to create value for customers. The recently launched Full Option Vehicle Emergency Policy has also been in the direction of consolidating Janshakthi’s innovative stance. Furthermore, the recently re-positioned Life Unlimited Policy gave customers a lifetime hospitalization cover even after the policy matured, thus challenging the world and norms of life insurance.

Janashakthi Insurance PLC also clinched triple honours at the glittering SLIM Awards 2010, thus becoming the only insurance company in Sri Lanka to win the highest number of awards in the service category at this event.

Good corporate governance has established the image of Janashakthi as a socially responsible entity, delivering greater and consistent value to customers, employees, shareholders and the country at large during the fifteen years of its service to the nation.
