Utmost measures taken to provide public with concessions

The Cooperatives and Internal Trade Ministry states that utmost measures have been taken to provide the public with concessions intended for the festive season. Several markets that sell goods at affordable prices have been set up with government’s intervention, the Ministry’s Secretary Sunil S. Sirisena said.


He said that the Ministry is putting in great efforts to keep the prices of essential consumer goods at a stable and fair level. We will not allow the cost of goods to be increased unwarrantedly, he also expressed.


All necessary steps will be taken in order to keep essential commodities prices at one level, the Secretary of the Cooperatives and Internal Trade Ministry said.
