It is indistinct as for what the Expert Panel appointed by Ban Ki-moon is visiting the country for. Even though the government states that they are arriving to give testimonies to the LLRC we (the United National Party) have dilemma regarding that, MP Lakshman Kiriella said.
Speaking at a media briefing in Colombo today (December 20) the Parliamentarian accused that the country is being discredited by the government itself and not by the opposition.
Although the Panel is coming to Sri Lanka to probe on the civil war, the person who knows best about the war is currently imprisoned, Kiriella pointed out.
He also expressed that he expects a clear answer from the government as to whether the panel of experts will be permitted to meet with the former Army Chief Sarath Fonseka.
