Eleven crew members arrive in Sri Lanka

The eleven crew members who were released by Somali Pirates on December 7 arrived in Sri Lanka in two groups early this morning. Two of the crew members on board the MV Al Nisr Al Saudi opted to stay onboard and continue sailing to Jeddah, External Affairs Ministry Spokesman Bandula Jayasekera said.

 

The two groups were said to have arrived in the country around 5.20 a.m. and 8.30 a.m. while according to information provided by the Sri Lankan Ambassador in Oman the 2ndofficer and the cook were the only crew members who continued the voyage.
