UNP PC member and three others arrested on suspicion

Four people including UNP Provincial Councilor, Shantha Sisira Kumara have been placed under arrest in suspicion to a shooting incident. Chilaw police state that the group is suspected to have been involved in a shooting that took place in the Sedawaththa area last night.


According to the police three persons who were wounded from the shooting have been admitted to the Chilaw Hospital and are currently receiving treatment.


The apprehended suspects are due to appear in court tomorrow.


Shantha Sisira Kumara was on previous occasion accused of being involved on the recent assault of United National Party Parliamentarian Palitha Range Bandara.
